Programme Highlights
This module develops the strategic foundation of the programme. Students learn how to plan, execute and lead digital marketing strategies in competitive environments, using contemporary frameworks, campaign-planning approaches and digital tools. For Caribbean professionals, this is particularly valuable because it can be applied to sectors such as tourism, hospitality, financial services, telecommunications and retail, where organisations increasingly compete for customers through digital channels. Students also learn to use analytics to evaluate campaigns, measure performance and connect digital marketing activity to business growth.
This module focuses on turning marketing data into actionable business intelligence. Students develop skills in gathering, interpreting and evaluating marketing data and using analytical tools and visualisation platforms to understand customers and improve campaign performance. This is especially important in the Caribbean market, where businesses need to make increasingly data-driven decisions about customer acquisition, social-media performance, tourism demand, e-commerce and digital advertising rather than relying solely on traditional marketing methods.
This module explores how organisations build compelling brands through storytelling, audience insight, segmentation and content strategy. Students learn how to develop content that reflects brand purpose and market positioning and how to create multi-channel campaigns that build engagement and loyalty. The skills have strong applications across Caribbean tourism, entertainment, culture, food and beverage, financial services and entrepreneurship, where authentic storytelling can be a major competitive advantage in reaching both regional and international audiences.
This module examines the issues transforming digital marketing, including privacy, ethical artificial intelligence, digital transformation and emerging technologies. Students develop the ability to assess how technology affects business, society and marketing practice while considering risks and responsible approaches to digital innovation. For Caribbean organisations undergoing digital transformation, the module provides useful perspectives on how to adopt emerging technologies while considering data protection, ethics, customer trust and sustainable organisational performance.
The dissertation is the final major component of the MSc and provides an opportunity to investigate a significant digital marketing issue in depth. Students identify a research problem, conduct literature analysis, select appropriate research methods, collect and interpret evidence, and develop recommendations. A Caribbean student could potentially use the dissertation to investigate a real regional business issue—for example, digital marketing in Caribbean tourism, social-media purchasing behaviour, digital transformation among Caribbean SMEs, online customer engagement or e-commerce adoption. The dissertation therefore provides an opportunity to combine academic research with a practical business problem.
