Entry Requirements
Since our courses are conducted entirely online, they are accessible to both UK and international registered healthcare professionals.
Applicants will typically hold a first degree or equivalent (including international qualifications) in a relevant professional healthcare field, such as a medical or nursing degree.
Registered healthcare professionals without these recognised qualifications will be considered on an individual basis and a wide range of prior experience may be taken into account. In some cases, applicants may be asked to submit a piece of work for assessment in order to confirm that they are able to work comfortably at postgraduate level, and demonstrate the requisite clinical and professional knowledge.

This foundation module establishes the scientific, clinical, social and ethical framework for advanced women’s healthcare. Students examine female reproductive anatomy and physiology, endocrinology, microbiology and pathology while also considering issues such as gender-based and domestic violence, pregnancy, placental function and infections affecting women. For Caribbean professionals, the module provides a strong platform for understanding women’s health holistically rather than treating individual conditions in isolation, while encouraging consideration of the social and cultural factors that influence health outcomes.
This module develops knowledge and clinical reasoning around contraception, fertility control and early pregnancy complications. Topics include miscarriage, ectopic and molar pregnancy, termination of pregnancy and the public-health considerations surrounding reproductive choices. Students develop the ability to interpret evidence and communicate options appropriately while navigating ethical and legal considerations. This is particularly valuable for Caribbean healthcare professionals working in primary care, reproductive health, family planning or maternal services.
Fetal Medicine focuses on conditions that can compromise fetal health and the prevention, screening, diagnosis and management of fetal abnormalities. Students explore chromosomal and structural abnormalities, prenatal screening, fetal infections, genetic disease and intrauterine growth restriction, alongside ethics and counselling. The module is particularly relevant to professionals involved in antenatal services because it strengthens their ability to understand complex fetal conditions and support parents through difficult clinical decisions.
This module concentrates on the detection and management of maternal complications associated with pregnancy.
